Maharashtra Signs MoUs With Finland, Global Partners To Boost Startup Ecosystem Under Vision 2047

In the presence of Minister Lodha, the Maharashtra State Innovation Society, under the Skill Development Department, signed MoUs with the High Commissioner of Finland, Dr. Eva Nilsson, and three other organisations.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has resolved to make India a developed nation by 2047, and Maharashtra will make a substantial contribution to this vision, assured Skill Development, Employment & Innovation Minister Shri Mangalprabhat Lodha. He was speaking at Sahyadri Guest House on Monday during the signing of key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the Skill Development Department and Finland in the area of startups.

In the presence of Minister Lodha, the Maharashtra State Innovation Society, under the Skill Development Department, signed MoUs with the High Commissioner of Finland, Dr. Eva Nilsson, and three other organisations.

Along with Finland, the MoUs were signed with Global Access to Talent from India (GATI), Magic Billion, and Charkos Enterprises, focusing on initiatives around placement, research, investment, and training. The event was attended by MITRA’s Additional CEO Shri Aman Mittal, Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Manisha Verma, Vice-Chancellor of Ratan Tata Skill University Smt. Apoorva Palkar, and Director of the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training Smt. Madhavi Sardesai. Before the MoU signing, a workshop titled ‘Viksit Maharashtra Vision 2047’ was organised by the Maharashtra State Innovation Society.

The primary objective of these MoUs is to foster cooperation in innovation, research, entrepreneurship, and investment. The focus will be on creating opportunities for startups in both countries, facilitating research in various industrial sectors, promoting investment, organising innovation programs such as job fairs and startup summits, enabling technology transfer, and strengthening industrial research collaborations. Additionally, plans will be drawn up to establish state-of-the-art training centres in Maharashtra with support from Finnish companies.

Through these agreements, the Maharashtra State Innovation Society under the Skill Development Department has taken a historic step toward strengthening international cooperation in entrepreneurship. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha said, “This is a result of the public-private partnership (PPP) policy, which directly benefits young entrepreneurs of Maharashtra and India. This creates opportunities for global knowledge exchange, skill training, and a nurturing environment for high-quality startups.”
